Happy Tails – Gunner

July 23, 2024 by Brooke Anderson

Hey, just wanted to give an update on Gunther now Gunner. It took him no time fitting right in. It’s only been a month but it feels like he’s been here for years. He has learned how to sit, stay, and give high fives. Peanut and Gunner are like long lost siblings. This is my 3rd dog that I’ve adopted from the SPCA and each one has always turned out great.

Happy Tails – Marshmellow

June 21, 2024 by Brooke Anderson

I adopted Marshmallow on January 17th of this year and he’s the best friend anyone could ask for. He loves his feather wand, chicken treats, and taking naps on the couch. I’m so glad we found each other! And thanks to all the staff at the SPCA for loving him until I got him!

Happy Tails – Duke

June 5, 2024 by Brooke Anderson

I just wanted to give you guys a little update on Duke who I adopted back in December. He is doing amazing and has settled into our home well. My aunt and I love him and he loves us, but he’s designated me as his person. I don’t understand how or why he was returned so many times to the shelter because he’s such an awesome dog. Thank you guys for allowing me to adopt him because at this point I don’t know what I’d do without him.

Thank you for what you guys do!

Happy Tails – Zeke

May 21, 2024 by Brooke Anderson

Hello,

Just wanted to update you that this boy is doing so good at adjusting to be part of our family! We could not be happier with the transition. I was nervous with him being in a shelter for so long he might be hard to potty train but he is doing great! He left there on Saturday and was able to be completely free all the way up until yesterday and even there it is off and on with my family in and out. He literally just chills in his crate all stretched out licking his peanut butter toy. 🤣

The vet said he is a healthy little guy so I can promise you won’t be getting this guy back. Our whole family is in love and I think he is going to be perfect for a therapy dog to go to school with me! His demeanor is just so chill and go with the flow. He does like to play with our other dog some though and that will wear him out until he is ready for another snuggle. We finally decided on Zeke and he is getting used to it and it suits him great!

Thank you for what you guys do!

Happy Tails – River

May 14, 2024 by Brooke Anderson

Good afternoon,

Thought I would give you an update regarding River. I am happy to say that after a very eventful first week, with work and patience, things have drastically improved. We have worked on some boundaries and now he and Dixie (another ARSPCA alumni) are doing much better. Had a few growls and apprehension with new men, but we have worked on that and he has done much better. With a few treats, he becomes buddies with them pretty quick. Extremely well mannered with women and kids. Even likes the cats. He has picked up on a daily schedule/routine very well. If someone didn’t know better, they would think he has been at our house forever. Still having some occasional tummy issues even after going back to the Purina that you said was fed to him at the shelter. Vet appointment is scheduled. Things are going very well. River has found his home. Feel free to share with anyone who was following River’s travels.
