Spay/Neuter Clinic

If you are in need of spay or neuter services, please give our clinic a call. The clinic is booking further out due to high demand, so there may be a wait for an appointment. 

To make an appointment, call the clinic Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The phone number for the clinic is (540) 885-7838. If you have a health concern about a dog or cat that you recently had spayed or neutered at our clinic and you do not reach our staff, please do not leave a message – call your vet or Veterinary Emergency Services in Verona at (540) 248-1051. 

The Augusta Regional SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic is a low-cost clinic welcoming pets and their owners from across the entire community.

Healthy dogs and cats 8 weeks and over and weighing at least 2 pounds are eligible for surgery.

All pets over 4 months of age who do not have proof of rabies vaccination will be vaccinated at the time of surgery and at the owner’s expense of $20 for the vaccine. All vaccinations and other low-cost services are offered only when also performing surgery.

We aim to be a flea-free facility. We will treat your pet on arrival if fleas are observed and a $10 charge will be added to the bill. (in-house treatment only)

Payment forms accepted: Cash, Mastercard, Visa, & Discover only, no checks. 

Cats: 

  • Females (SPAY): $100 / Males (NEUTER): $100 (includes injectable pain meds; nail trim if requested)
  • Other Cat Vaccinations and Services: (All booster vaccinations should be given 2-4 weeks apart):
    • FVRCP – Rhinovirus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (core vaccinations for all cats, >6 wks) $20/vaccination
    • FeLV – Feline Leukemia Virus (recommended for high risk cats with outdoor exposure and all kittens > 8 wks, must be tested for FeLV prior to vaccination) $20/vaccination
      ➢  >8 weeks of age, initial 2 series
      ➢  Annual revaccination after maturity would depend on the cat’s risk of FeLV (outdoor access)
    • Heartworm Antigen/FeLV/FIV Antibody combo testing $30
  • Rabies Vaccination $20

Dogs:

Dogs Surgery price includes surgery, pain meds, e-collar and nail trim

  • Spay or Neuter under 50 pounds: $150
    Spay or Neuter 50-100 pounds: $200
    Spay or Neuter 101-150 pounds: $250
    Spay or Neuter 151-200+ pounds: $300

Other Dog Vaccinations and Services: (All booster vaccinations should be given 2-4 weeks apart)

  • DAPP – Distemper, Parvovirus, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza (core vaccination for all dogs): $20/vaccination
  • Leptospirosis (recommended for high risk dogs with exposure to livestock, wildlife, backyard dogs): $20/vaccination (initial 2 series 3-4 weeks apart required, annual booster)
  • Lyme (recommended for high risk dogs with exposure to ticks, >10 weeks) $30/ vaccination (initial 2 series 3-4 weeks apart required, annual booster)
  • “Kennel Cough” Bordetella Bronchiseptica + Parainfluenza (recommended for dogs that will board, visit grooming salons, dog parks, or other multi-dog environments, >6 weeks) $20/vaccination (annual booster, some boarding facilities require every 6 months)
  • Heartworm Antigen/Lyme/Ehrlichia/Anaplasma Antibody 4DX testing $30
  • Rabies Vaccination $20

  • Seresto Collar $65/collar
  • Milbehart (anti-parasitic, HW test required) $10/dose or $50/box
  • Revolution Plus for cats (to go home) $20/dose or $110/box
  • Bravecto for dogs flea/tick prevention for 12 wks $70/box
  • Trazedone for dogs $15
  • Deworming $25/25 lbs
  • Ear Cleaning $20
  • Anal Gland Expression $20
  • Microchip $20 Owner will need to confirm registration online or by phone
  • Umbilical hernia repair $30
  • Male dog or cat cryptorchid: inguinal $30/testicle abdominal $60/testicle

Geriatric protocol:

Dogs 8-10y of age must have Big 4 (in-house)/IVC+/- IV fluids $30
Dogs >11y must have full blood-work within 30 days of surgery – can be done at a full service vet clinic or SNC prior to date of surgery, price available upon request
